Dr. Raymond C. Raines was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. He attended Auburn University from 1972 through 1980, earning a bachelors degree in microbiology and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, both with high honor. After graduation in 1980, Dr. Raines joined the staff of Tyrone Veterinary Hospital. In 1986, Dr. Raines became a partner. Dr. Raines has been very active in the local Veterinary community holding various offices including the presidency of both the Pinellas County Veterinary Medical Association and the Pinellas Animal Foundation. For this work, he was awarded The Young Achievers Award from Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1990 and two Gold Star Awards from the Florida Veterinary Medical Association in 1990 and 1997. Dr. Raines is married and has two daughters, Abby and Sarah. His wife, Debbie, is an instructor in the Veterinary Technology program at St. Petersburg College. They live in Seminole.  Outside of the practice, his major activities are golf and bike riding.


















Dr. Ed Kistemaker graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University in 1988.  He was awarded the Gentle Doctor Award - selected by classmates as the student they would prefer treat their own animal. After graduation Dr. Kistemaker worked in Tampa until joining Tyrone Veterinary Hospital in 1992.



















Dr. Jane Mayo was born and raised in West Virginia  until 1986 when her mother, brother and she moved to Sarasota, Florida. Dr. Mayo attended the University of Florida for undergraduate and veterinary school, graduating from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995 with honors.
Dr. Mayo moved to St. Petersburg in 1998 to join Tyrone Veterinary Hospital as an associate veterinarian. She enjoys caring for both dogs and cats, and, of course, their people. Living with several very geriatric pets herself, she has an interest and desire to ensure good quality of life as your pets live their lives.  
Dr. Mayo and her St. Petersburg-native husband and daughter share their home with two dogs and four cats. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Mayo enjoys landscaping, gardening, and orchid growing, as well as biking, jogging with her Labrador, wandering through Lowry Park Zoo and watching Florida Gator and Buccaneers football.
